Unpeeling the painful layers of my shadow.

Stepping into the often tumultuous terrain of emotional adulthood is akin to navigating a labyrinth of painful truths — truths that can catch us off guard if we’re unprepared. Here’s a delve into ten brutal realities of life that are often hard to swallow. From understanding impermanence, mastering your destiny, and facing betrayals, to redefining success, managing personal suffering, and confronting the illusions of reality. Use this simple breakdown of hard truths to equip you for the journey ahead. Remember, change is inevitable, but if you embrace it rather than resist, you are not only surviving — you’re thriving.

  1. Nothing in this plane of existence is permanent.
  2. No one else will rescue you (you are the master of your own destiny).
  3. Even those close to you will fuck you over for money.
  4. You can’t stop the pain, but you can absolutely stem your resultant suffering.
  5. Your career has absolutely nothing to do with “success”.
  6. Rescuing people usually winds up with you becoming their victim.
  7. It’s okay to unfollow people in real life.
  8. You are not the sum of the bullshit items you have amassed.
  9. Change is the one constant. If you can’t embrace it, you’re fucked.
  10. What you believe to be “reality” is an elaborate illusory distraction.
